The month of September was a month to Get In Order at our house. There are still many things that need to get done, but we have made great progress.
We took a few rooms at a time and our main focus was on the living and dining room to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for our family and friends.
Let’s start with the living room…
We got rid of the piece of furniture that we were just filling up with random stuff and replaced it with a new couch from Ikea decorated with pillows we bought from Amazon.
Now, let’s dine…
As we were fighting to get our dining room set, we were using an old dining table that seats only 4. For additional seating we were using a folding table and folding chairs for when we had family or friends over.
Once we got our dining set, we went to TJ Maxx to get a table runner; vase fillers to add color to our glass vases and wicker baskets; side tables to have a place for our bamboo plant; and canvases with heartfelt quotes that bring life to the room.
One of the things we are working on in our master bedroom is creating a vanity just for me 🙂
We still need to mount a mirror, add lights, and buy a chair/stool, but this is how we cleared and organized the space…
My husband and I had fun taking all the pictures and all along we had a shadow…
The challenge I would like to take a hold of this month is to learn at least some of the basics of photography.
Most of the pictures on YOUnfolded are from yours truly with tons of help and direction from my photography connoisseur of a husband. But I would really like to get to the point where ALL the pictures are taken by me and not have to bother the hubby to adjust the settings of the camera to how I would like it.
Learning photography will also be tons of fun because I would be able to join my husband in his photo gigs as his assistant; something he would really love, too 🙂
I know that I will not be able to learn all there is to know about photography in a month, but what I will do is build the habit of carrying a camera with me wherever I go and capture photos of everything that catches my eye.
I plan on reading about how to use a camera and I will take upon an October photo challenge I found on Pinterest:
Any resources or tips you would recommend on becoming a photo expert? I’m all ears/eyes!
