Before we get to that, let’s review the final thoughts on All Wrapped Up (December’s Birchbox):
The Verdict on the December’s Birchbox:
- MSC Skin Care + Home | Lavender and Bergamot Body Nectar
There was very little oil in the sample, but from what I was able to test it soaks very quickly into the skin and keeps it hydrated. I also loved the little bits of lavender in the oil, which added a nice fragrance. This one could be a repurchase.
- Coastal Scents | styleEYES Palette I continue to use the sample I received and I’m contemplating snagging the entire palette once it is back in stock. If you’re interested, hurry because they sell out fast!
- Marcelle | BB Cream Golden Glow
Although I love the glow on my skin from the BB cream, I am not happy about the coverage. You have to have a “good skin day” or have great skin to begin with to be able to wear this light coverage BB cream. Although I like to go more sheer with my makeup most of the time, I rather have something that is buildable for whenever I would like more coverage. I won’t repurchase it, but I would recommend it if you’re looking for something to add a natural healthy glow to your skin.
- COOLA | Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for FaceWonderful moisturizer that is great for daytime and I would highly recommend it even to those with sensitive skin like me. I may not repurchase simply because I prefer to have less beauty products and use just one moisturizer for day and night instead of having two different ones.
- Beauty Protector | Protect & Oil
A little goes a long way with the oil and I still have some left from the sample. I love how it sinks into the hair without leaving an oily residue and it moisturizes, adds shine, and makes frizz non-existent. The latter is incredibly amazing considering I live in a very humid location so the oil is on the list for a repurchase 😉
2016 will be what you proclaim and make of it and Birchbox reminded us of that.

- Embryolisse | Lait-Crème Concentre
The sample was really tiny, however only a small amount of product is needed to get the job done. This moisturizer is more for people with dry skin and can work for soothing sensitive skin as well. It claims to work as a primer as well and it does make the makeup application smoother.
- Eyeko | Fat Liquid Liner
Okay, so I have yet to master how to put on eyeliner and I do place some blame on my lack of knowing as to why I find it difficult to use the liner. When my husband said, “What is wrong with your face?”, I thought it was because of how badly I put it on. However, when I went to look in the mirror later I looked like I had raccoon eyes!! LOL
The eyeliner smudged all over my eyes and down to my cheeks and it claims to be smudgeproof! I will have to give it another try because maybe it takes some time to dry and I may have rubbed it all over my face without realizing 😛
- Number 4 ™ | Super Comb Prep & Protect
I didn’t expect much from this hair detangler because, to be honest, the ones I have tried in the past never worked. But it has been an amazing addition to my hair care! I have used it mainly when my hair is wet and it has made combing it afterwards a breeze! The only thing I don’t like is the chemical-like scent.
- Oribe | Cote d’Azur Eau de Parfum
Oribe’s dry texturizing spray I received in October’s Birchbox smelled wonderful and it turns out others thought so as well and a fragrance was made. I love the scent of the perfume, but unfortunately my hubby gets a headache from it so I can’t wear it often 🙁
- Real Chemistry | Luminous 3-Minute Peel
This is an acid-free peel that you apply on either damp or dry skin and then massage for 3 minutes to exfoliate. It is a clear gel and you feel the dead skin cells forming as you massage. After the peel my skin was luminous and smooth. Unfortunately, it caused me to break out a little bit, but I usually don’t exfoliate because of my sensitive skin. I may just give it another try because after a couple of days the breakouts healed and my skin remained luminous and soft.
Trying out all the products this month reminded me how there are things that may not work out as planned, others that surprise us, and some that initially hurt, but in the end we can come out shining bright!
