Move It Monday | Resistance Bands

Resistance Bands Featured Image

Resistance bands, also known as exercise bands, have been a long-time favorite in our house due to their portability, easy storage, and versatility.

There are tons of exercises that can be done with resistance bands and you can modify the intensity by changing the bands accordingly.

Another added benefit is that you can buy a whole set of resistance bands at a lower cost than purchasing an entire weight set. Also, the bands weigh a lot less than carrying weights around so you can travel with them to stay on track with your fitness.

The following affiliate link is the resistance band set I purchased back in 2012:

Time to put those bands to good use…

Day 1

Upper body exercises with Fitness Blender:

Day 2

Lower body exercises from Catherine St Pierre:

She talks you through each exercise so you are certain to do the proper movements to prevent injury.

Day 3

Work the abs with The Live Fit Girls:

I honestly did not use the bands for the floor exercises because I was afraid the bands would snap back at my face if I used it as pictured. But even without the bands, these exercises really worked it!

Day 4

I went for a full body workout from GymRa:

Their workouts never disappoint and this one was no exception!

Day 5

Relax and stretch your muscles with Jessica Smith’s Pilates workout:

Isn’t her dog Peanut adorable?!

  1. Awesome post! Thanks a lot for sharing these videos. I have resistance bands lying around (which I had got when I used to T25) but later stopped working out with them for some reason. Time to work out with them soon 🙂

    • I also let mine collect dust for while so it was great to use them again:) Hope the videos give you a head start on putting them to good use 😉

  2. I remember I used to love using resistance bands and it did wonders for me, but then I gave it up…don’t know why though! hmm…maybe I should get back into the habit!

    • Thank you, Colin! Yes, they are all of the above! I especially love how they can work with all fitness levels:)
