Our clothes can make a huge statement about who we are and what we stand for. From Harajuku style to hipsters to a simple graphic tee, we literally wear the essence of our personality and send a message for the world to see.
Mikaela, the creator behind Pay It Forward Gear, grasped the idea of impacting others with fashion:
Mikaela is a young woman that has battled with depression and anxiety and discovered the power of small acts of kindness as a healer. She not only was touched by the little actions of love her family and friends have shown her, but she was also greatly affected by deciding to pay it forward to others.
On her 28th birthday, a day she didn’t believe she would live to see, she set out to do 28 random acts of kindness with the help of her loved ones. They bought meals for people, donated toys to a dog shelter, and left flowers on old gravestones amongst other heart-warming things. Mikaela found the finest form of therapy on that birthday:
Subsequently, Pay It Forward Gear was launched in October of 2015 and the products include:
- Kids Tees
Prices are affordable, ranging from $12-34, and 10% of proceeds are donated to mindcheck.ca; a mental health resource and support website for youth and young adults in British Columbia.
Thanks to Mikaela, we can be a walking reminder to give to others and reflect the power of kindness with a simple fashion piece.
Keep shining your light to the world and never stop paying it forward!

I will be purchasing a Pay It Forward tank and will wear it proudly. Will you join me?
