Sun-Kissed Makeup

Sun- Kissed Makeup Tutorial younfolded blogSummer brings on the heat and many take advantage to obtain beautifully bronzed skin.

Unfortunately, the gorgeous tan glow masks loads of damage underneath that can be very difficult to reverse.

Apart from the damage, the sun’s rays can cause, the sweat from increased temperatures in the summer can lead to irritation and breakouts, especially if products full of chemicals are applied to the skin.

That is why I decided to create a natural-looking bronze look with products that contain skin-loving ingredients and are cruelty-free.

100% Pure Cosmetics is an incredible line and I have fallen in love with their products. They recently sent me a few of their products for review that not only make you look great, but also improve your skin.

100% Pure Cosmetics Products

Before applying any makeup, it is essential to start with a clean and moisturized canvas.

I first applied the Red Wine Resveratrol Nourishing Cream as my face and neck moisturizer and it goes on smooth and leaves your skin plump and dewy.

100% Pure Cosmetics Maracuja Oil Mascara

The sun can cause the skin to be dull and dry skin and this cream is perfect for “prevention and protection against the signs of aging including the appearance of environmental damage, lines, wrinkles and the loss of elasticity.

Never forget about your eye area! The skin underneath and around your eyes is thinner and distinct from the rest of your face so it needs its own moisturizer.

I raved about the Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream from 100% Pure that I received through Birchbox and it has become part of my skincare routine.

100% Pure Cosmetic Coffee Bean Eye Cream

I made sure to apply the eye cream before applying any makeup to provide an immediate reduction of puffiness and make my eyes look more vibrant and awake.

Now that my skin is nice and moisturized, I move on to the makeup.

Sun-Kissed Face Makeup products IT cosmetics BB cream foundation Reviva Labs primer w7 the cheeky trio

A primer is a must to have your makeup stay in place through heat, humidity, and sweat. I used the Reviva Labs Makeup Primer because it works very well for my dry and sensitive skin and it allows for smooth makeup application.

During the summer, I like to use BB creams because they hydrate, provide sun protection, and provide flawless coverage without being too heavy or cakey.

I use It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation™ Full Coverage Moisturizer™ because it has anti-aging ingredients and mineral-based SPF 50+ broad-spectrum physical sunscreen to protect my skin from the sun’s damaging effects.

Now the real magic happens with only 3 products!

Here is how I used the W7 The Cheeky Trio (bronzer, blusher, & highlighter powder palette) for the face and eyes…

Face: Apply bronzer in areas where the sun will naturally tan first.

A trick is to start with the shape of the number 3 on each side of the face; around the hairline, underneath your cheekbones (from outer temple to the outer corner of the lips), and around the jawline.

Then, sweep bronzer lightly across the forehead, the nose, and the middle of the chin.

Take the blusher and apply it starting at the apples of your cheeks then lightly sweep it out towards the temples.

Lastly, lightly dust the highlighter just above your cheekbones, in the center of your forehead, straight down the bridge of your nose and on the cupid’s bow (the area between your nose and lips).

Eyes: Using an angled eye brush, apply the bronzer in the crease of your eyes sweeping it around the shape from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye.

Then pat the highlighter with an eyeshadow brush on the brow bone, inner corner of the eye, the eyelid, and on the lower lash line.

Top with 3-4 coats of the Maracuja Mascara in the color Black Tea by 100% Pure Cosmetics.

Maracuja oil, pro-vitamin B5 and other conditioners strengthens for healthier lashes. Colored from black tea leaves, berry and cocoa pigments. Water, smudge and flake resistant.

The mascara held perfectly during a long night out in our hot, humid, and rainy weather.

Lips: I used the Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in the color Foxglove by 100% Pure Cosmetics.

The lipstick is not only an ideal color for summertime, but it is long-lasting, very hydrating, and beautifully pigmented. Plus, it contains antioxidants and vitamins to keep your lips looking youthful and healthy.

I hope you like the completed look as much as I do. I will be wearing this look a lot this summer and I especially love that all the products have benefits for the skin and are not tested on animals.

I also tried 100% Pure Cosmetic’s Pink Grapefruit Nourishing Body Cream and it smells as though you just sliced a pink grapefruit! It is such a refreshing and invigorating smell and the cream is thick, creamy, and hydrating without a greasy feel; great to nourish the skin during and after any summer fun activities.

  1. I’m so glad you did this tutorial! Bronzer is a must, I love it and it’s amazing what a difference it makes. So, I have BB cream, but what’s the difference between that and regular foundation? Heard a lot about Resveratrol, I think it’s time to invest in some. Oh, and I bought manuka honey – thanks so much for the advice! Have a great day, Nena!

    • BB cream tends to have more benefits for the skin than most regular foundations. They have added moisturizers, vitamins/minerals, and other ingredients that serve as a skin care product as well as makeup. Most of the time they feel much lighter on the skin, too.
I love the Resveratrol moisturizer from 100% Pure!! It is my new fave! Manuka honey remains a staple in my skin care so hope it works amazing for you, too:)
