A-List Inspiration: The No-Makeup Look

foundation makeup natural(The following is a guest post on achieving a beautiful no-makeup look)

The natural look can take time and effort to achieve, however, it can help you look good during the day because sometimes strong makeup can make us look unappealing and unflattering. If you didn’t sleep enough the night before, you can make your face look fresh and rested with just a little bit of makeup. Moreover, according to Fashion Week, a natural look is currently very trendy. If you learn how to apply makeup subtly every morning, you will be able to do it quickly and effortlessly in no time!

Here’s how to get a gorgeous No-Makeup Look:

Achieve the No-Makeup Look with simple steps

1. Cleanse

Natural skin care with cucumber, oils, lemon

Before applying any makeup on your face, cleanse it. You can use toners, cleansers or micellar water, whatever suits your skin best. Cleansing helps get rid of all dead skin cells which will help you look fresh and your skin will react better to the makeup you apply. Try using organic skincare products, because most of the cosmetics on the market are packed with harsh chemicals that give you great instant results, but damage your skin and health in the long run. Natural products usually take more time to start showing results, but they are absolutely worth it.

2. Moisturize

The next thing you should do is apply face cream. The trick is to choose the right face cream that is adequate for your skin type. Depending on whether your skin is dry, oily, normal, or combination, choose a face cream that will feel good and absorb well.

*Yentl recommends Aquation or DermaE for natural and ethical moisturizers.

3. Foundation

After applying face cream, there are a few steps to create a perfect foundation. First, use a primer. Primers are soft, hydrating, and make your makeup last longer. After the primer, apply your usual foundation. Lastly, use concealer for critical spots, such as areas under your eyes.

4. Perfect Skin

You’re almost done with the face makeup! For a final touch that will really make your skin perfect, apply a bit of bronzer. If you have fair skin like me, a highlighter would be better and will look more natural. A more affordable option is using a light shiny eyeshadow and applying it on your cheekbones and above your eyebrows. After this, just a bit of blush, preferably light pink for a fair complexion and your face will look amazing!

5. Eyebrows

Comb your eyebrows and remove any smudges of foundation or concealer on them. After that, you can emphasize them using an eyebrow pencil or shade. Don’t overdo it, just a little bit goes a long way and looks more natural.

6. Eyes

Female blue eyes

A white pencil liner a great trick to make your eyes look bigger, especially after you just woke up and want to appear more fresh-faced. Line your lower lid with the pencil and smudge it a little bit, then apply the pencil to the inner corner of your eye. This is a simple, yet very effective trick. You may also use a very thin layer of eyeliner on your upper lid as well if you are gifted with steady hands in the morning. After that, curl your eyelashes or use a little bit of mascara on your upper lashes only.

7. Lips

Finally, you can use a nude, light brown, or light pink shade of lipstick to put some emphasis on your lips. If you’re not a fan, simply using lip balm will do.

It may seem like too many steps to achieve a natural look in the morning, but they are all simple, and once you get the hang of it, it will take you less than 10 minutes to look amazingly natural every day!

  1. This is a lot of makeup for a no makeup look. I tend to go makeup-free when I’m trying for a no makeup look.

  2. I believe women would be surprised to know that many men find their natural beauty more appealing than the “heavily” made up appearance. It correlates with the appeal to their natural inner beauty.

  3. Some great tips! Makeup’s goal especially foundation is to compliment skin, not hide it. I find a light-weight matte foundation works nicely or, if I am having a good skin day simply wearing a good moisturiser and concealing the bits with a light-weight concealer works well.

Treating skin well goes a long way, and drink plenty of water for fresh clear skin.

I do like mascara, a lovely jet black one, and for the eyes you can use a primer and sweep a natural shade over the lid. Also natural brows, they really are the pillars of the face!

For the lips a lip balm is a good call or a natural lipstick.
