The following is a guest post that provides simple and healthy ways to reduce anxiety in your morning life.
We all have our morning routines which we follow each day. The reason behind this is that humans try to maximize their time and use it efficiently. Morning routines, or routines in general for that matter, exist solely for this purpose. However, there are also people that have routines simply because they don’t like change. In any case, routines aren’t always good and can cause you to feel depressed and empty as if you’re not experiencing life to the fullest. Personally, I’ve been down this road and have decided to change things up a bit. I’ve been feeling much better since then, and I recommend these tips so you can change your life as well.
Here are seven effective tips to reduce morning routine stress!
If you know how to use your time and organize it correctly, you’ll be able to do different things each morning without fear of forgetting something. Switch things up a bit but don’t become lazy and skip certain parts of your day. Being organized is key to a healthy life since you won’t waste time searching for things or hurrying up to catch a bus. When you are organized, the chances of being late somewhere or not being able to do/find something is minimal. So if you want to reduce the stress you might be feeling in the morning, it’s time to become organized!
Wake Up 10 Minutes Earlier
Ten extra minutes of sleep won’t make even the slightest difference in how well rested you are but ten extra minutes in the morning for breakfast and all other activities does make a huge change. Think of it this way: If you’ve been finding yourself in a pickle regarding getting to work on time due to traffic jams or simply because you didn’t have enough time to get ready, those ten extra minutes will do wonders.
Drink Warm Lemon Water
Lemon water is known to help reduce stress and make you energized. Lemonade is also great, but it takes a bit more time to prepare, especially if you don’t like pure lemonade without adding sugar. Lemon water has a mild lemony taste while providing all the benefits that lemonade has. Warm lemon water tastes amazing and will keep you up for a lot longer than you might expect. This should be the only morning routine that you have other than the necessities such as breakfast and teeth brushing.
Do a Light 10-minute Stretching Workout
Another great activity to do in the morning is stretching. Stretching workouts don’t need to be harsh on the body, and they usually take around 10-15 minutes to complete. Stretching is perfect in the morning because it promotes blood flow which, in turn, gives you energy. Try some stretching exercises here.
Go for a Walk
Instead of driving a car or going to work by bus, why not take a healthy walk? It will take longer, but you’ll feel better about yourself and your surroundings. You will notice features on the road to work that you’ve never noticed before. You might smell someone’s breakfast which might bring you back to your childhood. There are infinite possibilities, and we can guarantee you that you’ll feel great! You’ll also choose to go for a walk almost every time once you try it out! Plus, it’s incredibly healthy!
Various things can be distracting to people which might cause them to endure increased amounts of stress. These distractions could be birds chirping, kids playing, radio music that you don’t like, infinite red lights on the road to work, etc. Everyone is different, and everyone has different distractions. You should do something about them, so you don’t feel as much stress. If you hate having to stop at each red light, then either go by foot or take a different route. Everything has a solution!
Try Some Breathing Exercises
Breathing exercises focus on relaxing your body and soul. Try out some breathing exercises that will help you release all the built-up stress. You can do this in the morning and the evening, or whenever you want – it’s up to you!
